This is a very unusual museum since it does not have any premises as such; its exhibits are on display around the centre of Fanano and the nearby villages. The works fixed to the outside walls of buildings (there were already 160 of them in 1992) have been produced during the Fanano Sculpture Symposium, an annual event since 1983, in which sculptors of many different nationalities are invited to work in the town for a week, leaving the sculptures they produce behind them.
